Acceptable use policy
Last updated July 25, 2026
TempMail is built for privacy, spam prevention, and software testing. This policy explains what that does — and doesn't — permit, and how to report a violation.
Permitted use
TempMail is intended for: protecting your real inbox from newsletters and marketing lists, testing signup and notification flows during software development and QA, receiving one-time verification codes for services you're legitimately signing up for, and any other lawful use of a receive-only temporary email address.
Prohibited use
You may not use TempMail to: engage in or facilitate illegal activity of any kind; commit or assist fraud, including payment fraud or identity theft; circumvent another service's identity verification, KYC, or anti-fraud controls for the purpose of deception; harass, impersonate, or threaten another person; distribute malware, phishing content, or spam; or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or another user's inbox. This list is illustrative, not exhaustive.
Enforcement
We enforce this policy through rate limiting, IP/domain/email blacklisting, and review of user-submitted abuse reports, and reserve the right to suspend or permanently disable any inbox, API key, or account associated with a violation, without notice, and to report illegal activity to the relevant authorities where appropriate. Rate limits and per-account inbox limits (see the pricing page) also apply to every plan, including Free, to limit automated abuse.
Reporting abuse
If you believe a TempMail address is being used to abuse your service, harass someone, or engage in illegal activity, email [email protected] with the address involved and any relevant evidence (headers, screenshots, timestamps). We review every report and aim to respond within 2 business days; confirmed violations result in immediate suspension.
